I believe I am still doing well. I am feeling great. Bone scan and markers happening next month so when I have results I will share. My latest pathology report says my tumor markers dropped a further 3 points since my last blood draw in May. Now at an all time low of 11. I had the first AstraZeneca in late July and experienced a lot of anxiety as my lymph swelled and my ribs ached and my energy wained for 14 days. When I saw the title and had a listen I immediately felt uncomfortable and thought I would like to share some Clarifications:
Chemo and Radiation I was fortunate that my highly ER+ breast cancer diagnosis and the time frame in which I found it and the other options that were offered to me meant that I didn’t have to choose chemotherapy. I totally understand and respect that each patient’s options and choices are unique to them and find the title of this podcast a bit disconcerting. Perhaps a better title would be “Are my choices made in fear?” I mentioned in the podcast that I was offered chemotherapy by my oncologist in 2017 and my response to the offer for chemo was “thanks but not now as I’m pretty certain I’m NOT healthy enough this minute to warrant adding more damage to my body”. I wasn’t saying a final “no thanks” but a “not now”. As long as I’m blessed with knowing about other healing cancer options suitable for me that cause no harm, especially to my liver and my gut and immune system I will explore these first. At the very least I ‘now’ know (thanks to the integrative and naturopathic oncologists books I have read and articles I have since read) how to support my body through chemo in a way I had no knowledge of in 2014 or 2017. I can still empathise with that terrified me that was determined to stop the cancer in my spine that was reported to have “destroyed the left pedicle of L5”. My catastrophizing mind was telling me that targeted radiation was a good strategy to avoid a life of suffering and immobility. I guess the small part of me that regrets the radiation is regretful because I acted from a place of fear to ‘burn and destroy the cells in my own body’. Again I was fortunate to be given IV Vitamin C therapy for the 5 weeks following targeted radiation and then keep taking high dose Vitamin C daily in the form of high doses of my homemade Liposomal Vitamin C. I had no idea how incredibly sensible these two Vitamin C choices were at time and how blessed I was to have been gifted the IV therapy and inspiration and understanding of how to make my own Liposomal C. I am so grateful and seriously believe I’ve been Divinely guided and protected from day one.
Conclusions: Elevated NLR, a measure of systemic inflammation, has been associated with higher mortality cancer patients, including breast cancer patients. In this observational study, NLR was significantly decreased during radiation therapy in patients administered high-dose vitamin C.

I don’t think there is a one size fits all when it comes to a diet for cancer but a keto diet that is clean and high in Omega 3 and super careful around keeping the Omega 6 fats low, is the diet I know I would do best on. I ate a lot of meat on my keto for cancer diet in 2017-2018 and as much as I am happy I did that keto for cancer diet then, I would do it with a lot less bacon the second time round. Today I enjoy a balanced whole food diet and feel great. My energy is good and my head is clear. My gut is happy. I think going onto a clean keto I would really miss the lentil dishes and the slow cooked porridge I’ve been enjoying lately. The porridge is whole berries of spelt, barley, oat and rye cooked in a pressure cooker with green apples and then organic mixed berries and finely ground nuts are added and it’s served with cinnamon and nutmeg and banana. OMG – I would miss that start to my day. And this complex carb high fibre breakfast now really agrees with me. I do have a coffee and take fish oil and some other supps at breaky too. I have more energy all day than I did pre-cancer diagnosis. Somewhere along the way on this healing journey I have healed my mitochondria and believe I am at 50 in some important ways an upgraded rather than a damaged version of the old me.
Mind over body
I mentioned a few strategies I engaged with to work with my mind and emotions. I will share links below, and add a few I did not mention that I think were valuable to me. Dr.Joe Dispenza:
Books I loved which have mediations to go with them: ‘You are the Placebo’ and ‘Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself’. I listened to Youtube presentations by Dr.Joe and took notes, journelled and listened to the audio versions of the books repeatedly. I transcribed his mediations and read them to myself and then listened to the meditations in my voice until I was fully aligned with this powerful theory of change.
Below is a short snippet of a video I recorded of myself in 2018 doing the intuitive healing movement meditation in which I am blessing my energy centres. I see it like a very physically engaged prayerful gratitude practice. My background sound is the morning birdsong at home in Valla, NSW Australia.

There were a few other Dr. Joe mediations that inspired me but really the BEC 1& 2 were my standouts. I could not sit still and meditate after my diagnosis. I could lay down but that didn’t seem like the way to bless my energy centres at that time so I got up off the floor and moved my body in a movement meditation as I listened to the BEC 2 played loud. I guess I can call what I was doing a movement meditation because this term was later introduced to me by my GP’s partner when they invited me to learn cosmoForm with them.

It was fantastic. It provided more support and a deeper understanding on how I could work with each of my energy centres in service of my healing. Qi Gong ( same as Chi Gong ) Besides a mindfulness meditation practice my other foundational wellbeing practice I have enjoyed since 2012 is Qi Gong. I am blessed to have a dear friend who is also my treasured medical Qi Gong teacher. I have just signed up to do a 9 month intensive training with her that will then allow me to share with other cancer patients some of the more simple yet deeply nourishing and transformational healing practices that she has taught me over the years. These ancient healing practices work on all 5 levels of healing; all the physical systems , the emotions, mental focus, the connection to spirit or healing energy and for me it’s a way to align with the Divine Intelligence behind all of life. Knowledge of how to, and when to, apply these practices in relation to the challenges faced on the cancer journey is something I feel is important to put my attention towards sharing. The Emotion Code At the end of our chat I talk about the value I have seen in releasing trapped emotions. I used the Emotion Code book and audio book to guide me in learning how to do this. On reflection I believe that my success with self-administrating this healing technique was a lot about being in a state of trust and alignment with higher frequency healing feelings and this was possible thanks to the above mentioned mind-body practices. I know that there are some wonderful energy healing practitioners that work with the Emotion Code and they work face to face and can do distant healing via the phone and video calls. I was trained in this and was sharing this for about a year with other patients but have withdrawn this offering for the time being while I heal some complex grief of my own. EMDR was another mind-body healing technique discussed briefly in our chat. I have not use dit but my GP uses it with his patients and he has told me about it. June 3rd 2021 I just got the good news that my tumor markers are at their all time lowest mark of 14 and there is nothing active on my PET or CT. The bone scan shows no definite changes. Onc is still calling me stable. I am not on any oncology drugs and stopped Zoladex 16 months ago now. I am still taking Melatonin each night. I am healthy and very happy to be celebrating my 50th year in this precious body this month. I’m busy getting things in place to celebrate my 50th birthday with a breathwork and sound bath gathering, finger food feast and sock disco. Yes, at 50 I believe we can really move easier on a dance floor in socks. It’s a day for playfully celebrating and consciously connecting to the energy within, around us and between us. What I eat and what I take each day is very different now to when I was starving the cancer. I will get back to the blog and write some more about the post-cancer choices I’m making post-birthday! x
Nov 2020 1st CTCResults: 10 ml of blood 3.3 CTC/ml incl 1 cluster. Specimen contained single CTC (n= 16), and one cluster of CTC-like cells with 17 nuclei (n=17), total CTC (n=33), suggesting some residual disease activity. The background shows mild to moderate numbers of immune cells and occasional fungal elements. The CTC count is consistent with a mild to moderate increased risk of tumour progression or relapse.
I am thinking this is not too bad. Still room for improvement (especially re. fungal elements) but really great news worth celebrating. I will continue to pause the Zoladex for now and keep up with immune system and anti-inflammatory focus while pulsing the pathways inhibitors.
March 2022 note: I did end up stopping the Zolodex all together – did not go back to it and have continued with Melatonin which is now 60mg a night and every now and then I will pause it for 5 days and then re-start. My tumor markers remain the lowest of all time and all labs are looking really good. White blood cells were terribly low for years but have come back up to the normal range in past few months. I am living a very active pain-free life, practicing Qi Gong and working as a mental health outreach support worker. Having bone scans once a year and next one due in early May 2022.
Many women who read this blog have a similar diagnosis to me and write to ask me about what I take each day in regards to my bones mets . Here’s my bone healing list of supplements and studies. None are strictly ‘bone only’ and all have multiple anti-cancer targets.
I worked my way from 3mg to 20mg then up to 180mg nightly. Melatonin influences bone metabolism by stimulating bone growth and inhibiting osteoclast activity. Oral administration of melatonin contained in drinking water increased bone strength in naturally aged mice. Nowadays I am taking 60mg a night. I also use a red light belt for 10 minutes before lights out and that helps me with sleep (at least I believe it does).
We need Vitamin C to create new collagen. Active metastatic cancer in the bones takes our collagen, and with it it takes away our bone strength and our daily energy. Vitamin C is so important. Liposomal Vitamin C allows me to have 5g each evening with my melatonin powder and magnesium without upsetting my digestive system. (Small IV-C doses easily obtainable with Lip C) A median reduction of 50% in pain was observed among the patients in the vitamin C group. Median survival time was 10 mo in patients receiving ascorbic acid, whereas the chemotherapy and control groups had a median survival of 2 mo. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26168394/
Great news NO evidence of active disease on my latest PET. I’m into the 8th month now of my break from the Zoladex. My next test will be a circulating tumor cell (CTC) test. Still taking all my breast cancer pathway inhibitors each day. Spending more time away from the breast cancer research and never ending spreadsheets. I am enjoying spending time each day supporting others with their healing thoughts and emotions and looking after the now 10k member strong healing cancer study support group.
I’ve been taking many of the same things I was taking back in June. The dosages have got a bit smaller perhaps on some of the herbs and tincture and lately I have increased my Omega-3 and Olive Leaf Extract. I chose to stop taking the Zolodex implant. I’ve come to believe that my highly ER+ receptor cancer cells that were in a dormant state for 18months due to their unchanged primary estrogen receptor status, are now active again.
I have not had conventional scans to prove they are active but instead I could clearly feel them become inflamed again like the were in early 2017, about 6 weeks after the last Zolodex implant, late February. I have been addressing this inflammation successfully and will continue to. Some of my upper body are very close to the skin and clearly doubled in size, but since then, inflammation has subsided due to the protocol I’ve been pulling together.
I believe that the 18 month-long largely Zolodex led dormancy state of the cancer cells made the little buggers not 100% reachable with my metabolic healing strategies. I’m giving myself until August 1st to do all I can minus the Zolodex. All things going really well; I get to live Zolodex-free and cancer-free.
“I am now prepared enough to put what I know to work, to work, without the Zolodex.“
I would put this decision down to wanting to engage my whole body in my healing, and see how this serves my overall vitality and health status going forward into old age. It makes most sense to me to use as few heavy handed pharmaceuticals as possible.
My oncologist was not happy about me stopping the Zolodex, however she said she will be happy for me to go back on it if my attempts to do this without Zolodex are not a success. I will have a PET, CT and Bone at the end of July to help me decide my next move.
What I’m now taking each day
So with all the bone met activity I’m feeling again (since stopping Zolodex 3 months ago) I’ve swung back into a stronger healing protocol which for the months of June/July 2020 includes : hydrogen-rich alkaline water, artemisia annua emulsion, chlorella, lemon, walnuts, green apples, pomegranate extract, curcumin, brocolli sprout powder, loads of fresh sprouts, R-alpha lipoic acid, liposomal vitamin C, beta 1,3-Glucan, berberine, grape seed extract, parsley leaf powder, chamomile tea, green tea, danshen, ginger, milk thistle, burdock root, pau d’arco, honokiol, tocotrienols, iodine, magnesium, selenium, zinc, citrus bergamot, astragalus, cats claw, stinging nettle, boswellia, B complex, CoQ10, glucosaminesulfate,fish oil, mini aspirin, D3, K2, niacin, olive oil, nigella sativa, skullcap, hesperidin and melatonin. …( and maybe one of two I’ve missed even!!)

I’ve enjoyed directing so much heart-led energy and precious time into supporting others the past year, and now with so much bone met activity returning it is time to walk the talk and return the focus to my own health again as I did so well in 2017-19. How do manage to take so many things?
I have been buying dried herbal powders and creating drinks/teas which I enjoy and reduce the capsule load. At least 9 of my healing herbs are taken as a drink.
My Daily Healing Tea Pot is looking strange but actually tastes good.
Place all ingredients in a pot. Pour boiling water over and place on stove.
Bring to simmer and with watchful eye leave on gentle rolling simmer for 5 min. It may need lifting off the element to control overheating.
Remove from heat and allow to cool down to a nice easy warm temperature.
Use tea strainer when serving. Reheat a little and consume over the course of the day.
Great to swallow my cancer pathways inhibiting supplements with.
My tea even tastes great with my broccoli sprout and parsley powder mixed through it.

Artemisia Annua Each morning before Qi Gong I am take two dessert spoons of emulsified artemisia annua; one at around 3am and one around 6am. I will take every day for the next two weeks and then break for one week and then re-start. When I think of alive cancer cells, I think of cells that are metabolically active. And then I think well that’s what a PET scan attempts to tell us. This is why I paid out of pocket last year to get my PET scan. I wanted to know if my metastatic breast cancer was metabolically active after 9 months of DIY concentrated metabolic pathway inhibition.
My very conventional oncologist doesn’t seem to give much weight to cancer being seen as active or inactive and refused to write me a referral for a PET scan. She said that PET’s are not accurate enough as far as seeing small stuff. You are stable, and that’s great she said. I went online and found an oncologist who was happy to refer me for a PET scan. ‘Stable” was not the term I had worked hard for. I’m looking for a NED and I would be happy to hear that I was NEAD given that bones do take time to return to normal healthy scar free images on the bone scans. Stable, I’ve been stable for ages.
I had a copy of the PET results sent to my conventional oncologist so she could celebrate with me (not). I guess if she was in my shoes and actually knew how much work and how much time and money I had invested in starving the stem cells she would have been more likely to get behind a PET and be celebrating with me when it came back with a NEAD report. No evidence of active disease. No, she wasn’t impressed one bit but the report did give me an opportunity to argue with her about the language we were going to use going forward. Since the 2 reports. (I had 2, one report done in QLD and in one NSW. My original PET ordered by my QLD surgeon win 2017 was done in QLD and the 2nd in 2019 was done in NSW). I won the argument. No more referring to my condition as stable, She agreed to join me and the report writers in calling it NEAD. She said it made no difference to her. I said it meant everything to me. I tried to explain that stable sounded like I had cancer that was not progressing. NEAD sounds like I have no living cancer cells.
I combined the PET report with her bone scan and CT report and yes there is scar tissue built up on some of my bones, but there are also areas which have cleared and are no longer noted. The cancer had not only caused these build ups but it had taken away bone..these bits I thought of as my Swiss cheese. These have healed. No more Swiss cheese and instead I have new healthy bone. Coming up to nearly 3 years since my stage 4 diagnosis I can happily say..I am way beyond stable; I am healing. I have healed wide spread bone mets ..and my body is amazing and I will keep doing everything I can to support it to stay this way.
I no longer inhibit all the pathways at once to starve cancer these days as I once did. I believe it is no longer there; nothing to be starved. Instead I live very healthy and I focus on caring for my immune system and overall energy and health, incl my hormones ( all new learning curve!!) and mental health. I recently stopped my monthly Zolodex implant that the onc put me on mid 2017. Will tell her I stopped it at next appt. And I no longer take Dipyridamole (DPM). I rarely take the Herpes drug medication I used alongside DPM to get things back on track . I am using herbs and supps instead and have no outbreaks. I am having a pause from Quercetin too just now too and think this is working for me.
I’m still very happy taking/eating daily or cycling: green tea, licorice root and fennel, chamomile, chrysanthemum, ashwaganda, burdock chlorella, chia, green apple, ginger powder, lime or lemon juice, Vit D3, K2, Liposomal Vit C, R-ALA, Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva, Zinc, Magensium, Selenium, Boron, Iodine, Beta Glucan, NAC, Niacin, Mixed B’s, (extra B12 B6 only 2 x week) , Broc Sprout Powder, Grape Seed Extract, High dose Melatonin, Cats Claw, Astragalus, EPA/DHA, Tocopherols, Olive Oil, Eating so well, mostly plant based with more pulses. Chicken in very small portions 1-2 x week and a little red meat every 3-ish weeks . Black seed oil ( but not too much) Hydrogen water, skullcap. Loads of greens and olives and sauerkraut and sprouts. Infrared Sauna 3 x week, Emotional releasing work, 1-2 dog walks a day, Medical Chi Gong movement practice with healing mediation 1 hr each morning.

My secondary Breast Cancer (mets to bones) diagnosis from May 2017 looks like it’s continuing to reverse itself. I appear to be on the right track to meet my outrageous goal of getting a no evidence of disease (NED) report this year. I had a bone scan last week; my first one in 5 months and the results are a great read. I especially love re-reading this line from the report: “The previously identified lesions elsewhere on the bone scan performed 6/12/18 are no longer visualized.”
So this means: In about 4 of the 7 places, where there was some broad areas of what conventional oncologist’s call stage 4 ‘incurable’ disease, the cancer is NO LONGER DETECTED. OMG – How wonderful is that! I’m still swimming in the good feeling feelings of…
1) relief; Even though I believe in everything I am doing, I was a little concerned given that I’m taking very leading- edge and not always conventional approach to my healing.
2) acknowledgment; this report somehow acknowledges all my valuable time and energy devoted to this task of researching how to starve my cancer.
3) inspiration; I am feeling energized and focused on the NED goal ahead of me. I have just three areas of disease still visualized on the latest bone scan; I started with 7 bones lesions + 3 breast area/lymph node tumors 2 years ago.

Jan 2019 Celebrating: learning, co-operation, support & flow My (Australian) GP approved my use of Dipyridamole yesterday. The chemist will be able to fulfill prescription next week. I will start with 100mg each day for a week and build up to 200mg each day of a slow release tablet.
I have been researching the power of Dipyridamole to inhibit the spread of cancer since I first learnt about it in Jane McLelland’s, How to Starve Cancer book. Along with Glucosamine Sulphate, Mebendazole & Aspirin, this Dipyridamole will seal the deal when it comes to stopping the release of growth factors/enzymes (VEGF’s & MMP’s) that break down the extracellular matrix and could allow my cancer to spread and grow.
I will just need to keep an eye on my blood pressure levels and make sure it does not get too low. The out of pocket cost is very low, but I will report back when I pick up the script next week.
Feb 2019 Celebrating: learning, integration & vitality
I feel as if I’m now fully embarking on a new leg of my cancer healing journey. I am currently still diagnosed with ‘stable’ stage 4 breast cancer ( which spread to bones in 2017).
I believe that living with cancer stem cells in my bones, even in a state of stability or non-progression, is NOT the future that I want for myself, or anyone else. We can do better!
“The ultimate life hack” is the how one of my friends with breast cancer describes the book by Jane McLelland that explains how to target cancer stem cells with affordable re-purposed medications and herbs.

There is a mountain of valuable information in the book that I have had to extract and personalize in order to present it to the people who are supporting me, such as my doctors, my friends and my family. So this is What I’m Doing…in February 2019
Using the book.
Buy the electronic version of the book. Read the book thoroughly. Make, a strictly personal-use only, copy of the McLelland Metro Map. I had the electronic version of the book open on my i-pad and took a screen-shot of the screen. This screen-shot gets automatically saved as an image in my ‘all photos’ photo album on my i-pad.
NOTE: The McLelland Metro Map is only available (for personal use) to people who purchase the book:
Step 2) I opened the i-pad’s photo application and found the photograph of the map where I had saved it in my private photo album and then used a pen tool in the photo ‘edit’ program to ‘edit’ the screen shot image I took of the map.
Editing it involved choosing a pen tool from the tool pallet and running a green colored line under the names of drugs/medications/herbs I was able to access. And yes, of course, I could have also made a copy of the map on to paper and underlined it in pen, but for personal reasons chose to do this step on my screen.
More on purchasing the book; I highly recommend anyone interested in killing cancer stem cells buy the electronic version of the book, as it the ongoing researching, is ‘super’ easy compared to using a paperback copy. e.g when reading an electronic version of the book you can right click on any word and choose to “Search Google” for more info, or right click and choose to “search book”…wow..You can then read everything Jane wrote on that drug or topic. It saves a lot of time when you are piecing together the puzzle. You can also quickly highlight large areas and they are automatically saved to your Kindle or e-reader notes.
So this simple 2 step process above is where I started engaging with the metabolic pathways and what I could do to block them.

Many people who I have engaged with, in the “How to Starve Cancer…” Facebook groups are taking this same, new and advanced metabolic approach to starving and killing caner stem cells, but with the help of an international oncology clinic.
Many of my fellow Facebook “How to Starve Cancer…” private group members from all over the world, are on, and/or at least considering ‘going to go on’ the Care Oncology Clinic (COC) complimentary off-label medicine protocol. The COC is based in the U.K and U.S.A and consult with patients and thier GP’s from all over the world via Skype.
As I understand it, the COC doctors will communicate with their patient’s local GP (or at least a GP in the patient’s country, about getting on board and supporting the patient with a simple yet powerful complimentary approach to their current treatment.
The COC doctors provide the patient’s GP or oncologist with the understanding and confidence required to prescribe the complimentary off-label, FDA approved medications shown below.
I believe that Care Oncology Clinic (COC) are currently (as of Jan, 2019) conducting self-funded research into this 4 drug metabolic approach to killing cancer stem cells ( all types of cancer) and are only prescribing these 4 complimentary medications (listed above) to each and every patient. I’m not doing this protocol. I may in the future.
Out of interest, I created a second personal copy of the McLelland Metro Map onto which I underlined in green just the COC prescribed medications. I compared the two maps.
I noticed right away that COC prescribed Mebendazole (MBZ) and it is not on the McLelland Metro map and so I did some more research. I discovered that it would be useful to anyone with any type of cancer, and that I could but it from the local chemist. I added it to my shopping list right away. ( I took fro 6 weeks and then stopped taking it, not because of any side effects, but thought I’d keep things simple and this one up my sleeve in case of progression)
When comparing the two maps, I did observe that the COC protocol was blocking many metro Map pathways with just a few medications. My first map showing the non-COC approach meant buying a larger quantity of meds/herbs and still there were gaps.
My personal leaning was towards the more natural herbal supps map I made first. I decided I would try to fill the map with the most natural over the counter medicines first and attempt to incorporate the COC drugs selectively if I ever needed to. That’s just who I am.
I connected with some of the people who were signed up to the COC protocol via my participation in the “How to Starve Cancer…” Facebook groups and soon discovered that many of them were taking a cocktail of cancer stem cell (CSC) metabolic pathway blockers including herbs and supplements ‘on top of’ the four main COC medications.
This led me to begin asking myself; “How many Metro Map pathways do I need to block?”
After giving this question some consideration I came to the conclusion that I would attempt to block them all and see how this felt.
This decision to BLOCK THEM ALL was based on the following:
My stage 2 diagnosis was made 5 years ago and after a mastectomy, and spell of ignorance my stage 4 diagnosis was made mid 2017 (almost 2 years ago). At this point in time I have no knowledge as to which metabolic pathways, if any, are currently up-regulated and/or which are likely to be up-regulated next. My breast cancer was last reported (Dec , 2018) to be stable, in my bones, (nowhere else) and I’m not willing to, or perhaps even able to, biopsy these bone lesions to obtain further information regarding their preferred energy sources etc..
I am sure I will in time, but for now I have no idea exactly what metabolic pathways my cancer stem cells prefer right now. So after reading the book I learnt that stage 4’s are really better off to be covering all of the pathways at once to reduce the risk of pushing the cancer to a more aggressive state. I will do that; Block them all ( or as many as I can)
The ER+ & PR+ ER- hormone receptor status of my breast cancer was reported via breast tissue biopsy when I was first diagnosed stage 2 in 2014. I had a really crap alternative GP back in 2014. It’s almost impossible to believe now, but this really crap local GP advised me, , (me being someone who got a 95% ER+ via biopsy) against taking any hormone therapy. In fact she advised me against seeing an oncologist full stop. OMG, it’s frightening to think she’s still in practice. Anyway, I am very grateful now that I have both a great integrative GP and a great oncologist. As far as my own personal hormone situation goes, I was still pre-menopausal, at the time of my secondary diagnosis (2017) and immediately awoke from my spell of ignorance placed on me by the 1st GP and went to and oncologist that started me on a monthly Goserlin (Zoladex) implant which stops my ovaries producing hormones, ( Plus I dove straight in with consistent use of high dose Vitamin C, the ketogenic diet for cancer -for at least 6 months, plus loads of ginger powder & curcumin with each meal. I didn’t know it at the time but the curcumin and high doses of vitamin C and the Zolodex were already blocking some of my cancer’s metabolic pathways. O.K, so where am I …as of February 2019?

Christmas 2018 Update:
On one hand, I’m celebrating many great test results received throughout 2018. An ultrasound in September showed three tumors across my chest wall have vanished completely and regular blood tests indicate my tumor markers are well and truly in the ‘normal persons’ range. My MRI and full body bone scans from December indicate my cancer is stable and possibly even retreating in one of my vertebrae.
I’m also feeling more determined then ever, that I can clear this cancer out of my body. I’m happy with my super healthy, balanced low-carb diet and energetically balanced life, my strong immune system; all have all been a great achievements, but I’m feeling like I’m now in the right place on all levels to totally slay this cancer dragon.
I have been fortunate that in the past week I found this new book by U.K cancer out- smarter, Jane McLelland. It’s really a must read for anyone looking to out-smart the dragon that is cancer. Jane has mapped the metabolic pathways of the cancer cells and ways to block these pathways using affordable re-purposed medications, (both over the counter and prescription), alongside close attention to diet and timing specific exercise.
I’ll keep you updated to how I chose to engage with the new information I’m integrating from the book and how my body responds over the coming months.

It’s now Nov 1st 2018 and my oncologist told me last week that my breast cancer tumor markers have dropped even further. They are now 16. I’m feeling magnificent and I will be getting an MRI of my spine next month to see how my Lumbar region is looking.
I’m currently not taking as many supplements as I was previously. This is what I’m taking currently:
5 grams Vitamin C as a 25ml shot of Life Energy C, each afternoon.
I’m adding plenty of organic turmeric & ginger powder to breakfast, all cups of tea & to my dinner. I drink organic Chrysanthemum tea with Marshmallow root with some organic ginger and turmeric powder in that too.
I am still loving my breakfast bowl of soaked chia, with 1 tspn chlorella powder, whole lemon juice to taste, soaked organic goji berries, 1 tspn organic ginger powder & 1 tspn organic rose-hip powder. Lunches are organic vegetable salads with sauerkraut, sometimes mackerel or chicken & avocado with lightly toasted pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
Over the past couple of months I have enjoyed reading the book Radical Remission and the book, Molecules of Emotion. Both have provided me with the opportunity to reflect more deeply on how my emotional state and my sub-conscious state (the body’s intelligence systems of information and energy we call the mind) influence my healing of secondary breast cancer and my ability to maintain my good health going forward.
I now know how to muscle test (communicate with my sub-conscious mind about my body’s needs), and for the past 6 weeks I have used The Emotion Code to release trapped emotions from my body. I’ve found the releasing of trapped emotional baggage to be incredibly powerful. Physical conditions which I thought were never going to go away just left – And emotions which I thought were outside of my direct influence, left like a switch was flicked – gone!. I am so impressed with the power of this work that I am now completing The Emotion Code practitioner training so I can support others to release their emotional baggage that is causing stress in their bodies, their life and in their relationships with others. We all deserve to feel this good!

This is great news as I know our world is flooded with invisible cancer causing estrogenic pesticides and my biopsies last year showed that my cancer when active, was covered in estrogen receptors.
I’ve been so diligent with both my fresh turmeric and curcumin supplement intake during the past year. A couple of days ago, my chest wall that was once covered with metastatic breast cancer is now clear. There was unexpected good news from the oncologist. I hadn’t stopped to imagine that my breast cancer tumour markers would continue to drop as they were already down to 25 at last count. The normal range is 0>30, and they where once at 51; that was a year ago when my scans showed breast cancer metastasis in seven places throughout my skeletal system. Now they are 19!
The latest CT scan showed ‘nothing’ apart from already seen and stabilised activity within the bones. The bone scan report showed no progression. My breast cancer tumor markers dropped even further. I was already back in the ‘normal’ range, now I must be in the super healthy person range for sure because I’m feeling amazing!
After the above mentioned results came in, I went for an ultrasound to examine areas on my chest wall, armpits and right breast where active breast cancer tumors were confirmed via biopsy last June. There was nothing there. Yes, all three confirmed tumors that originally led me to CT, PET and bone scans and the diagnosis of secondary cancer throughout my skeletal system, have now completely vanished. How exciting! Could the same be happening throughout my body. I am choosing to believe it is.
Everyday I’m exercising vigorously to oxygenate my whole body for thirty minutes, followed by a 30 minute sauna and Qi Gong. I’m taking many supplements to support the healing process

I’m feeling full of energy all day and sleeping well.
Sitting in the waiting room prior to my initial appointments at the cancer institute I saw plenty of burnt skin on the hands, legs, feet and faces of people getting radiation treatment. The oncology nurse told me to use plain sorbolene cream on the area after the treatments and to make sure the area was clear of this sorbolene cream each morning prior to treatments.
I have plenty of aloe vera growing in the garden and know how powerful it is for treating burns, so instead of sorbolene I would apply fresh aloe for a few weeks after the targeted radiation sessions. It was even more soothing when I remembered to collect it from the garden early and place it in the fridge.
Another cream I used both during, and for several weeks following radiation therapy was one I bought from Tony, the naturopath and compounding chemist at the Tree of Life, Sawtell, NSW. Tree of Life mail products out to customers Australia wide, so I encourage anyone going for radiation to get in touch via their website contact link and see if something can be made up for you, or your family member for application during and after radiation treatment. I’m pretty sure the cream he made for me was a combination of comfrey and vitamin E.
I’m pretty sure as a compounding chemist the ingredients in each jar are particular to the person’s needs. I’m going in to see him next week so I’ll make a note to ask him some more on this subject.
I didn’t mention the Cream from the Tree of Life to the nurses, but I did mention the aloe vera and they were very happy with me using it. I’m thinking that free aloe vera plants should be available for people getting radiation. You want the fresh aloe vera only, not the stuff in bottles that is often a mix of ingredients including alcohol.
I love to learn about people and their personal healing journeys. Everyone shares something different about what works for them. Most people who talk about healing cancer naturally seem to place a great deal of attention on what they eat and don’t eat.
I do not believe that their is just one cancer healing diet. I believe that there are many different healing diets that help many different people.
Immediately following the secondary breast cancer diagnosis in 2017, I went on the Ketogenic for Cancer Diet for 6 months. This diet cuts of the cancer’s first main food supply which is glucose. Going full ‘Keto’ was a great way to increase my sense of mental clarity and physical energy. Focusing so much attention on learning about and practicing the keto for cancer diet was also a great way for me to deal with the initial trauma of hearing such dis-empowering words from my oncologist.
I found that making such a dramatic change in my eating habits allowed me to exercise my “need to control’ a situation that felt totally out of control. I was able to poor all that ‘need to control’ into weighing and recording my macro nutrients and micro nutrients, taking and recording blood samples and shopping for new ingredients for my new fat burning fuel system.

I used the Keto Diet app to get me started, and after a couple of months I moved over to the cronometer in order to get a better understanding of my micro-nutrient levels.
One year in, I am no longer strictly Keto and I enjoy a little fruit, and more vegetables than I did at first. I now steer clear of all bread, grains, white potatoes, sugars and processed foods.
These videos below are great resources to support understanding re. the correct ratios of protein, carbs and fats. The one on the different types of fasting and feasting is worth a watch too, For many people ketosis is the first step but fasting needs to be included to remain healthy.
I make an effort to eat plenty of healthy fats, fresh vegetables… and I still eat meat.
Since I switched to keto, and then to super low carb, my brain is sharper all day, and my body feels much leaner and free from inflammation, aches and pains. I also consume loads of ginger and turmeric both wonderful in their fresh or supplement form for reducing inflammation and pain throughout the body.
I’ll share more about my diet later, but for now I recommend anyone interested in cutting off the first main fuel source feeding many types of cancer cells to read this book. I believe it is the current number one resource, for all things ketogenic for cancer. I recommend this book to people who do not have cancer but are interested in finding the best resources to support them in making the change from a primarily glucose to a primarily fat burning body. The author has listed so many resources within this book. It’s gold! It was not written when I first went Keto; it would have made my life so much easier if it was.
Update April 2019:
I am no longer doing anything Ketogenic, and now have a deeper understanding about how cancer feeds thanks to Jane McLelland’s book ‘How to Starve Cancer without Starving Yourself’. I now believe that many cancer’s can start off preferring glucose over fats or proteins but over time their feeding patterns will shift.

We eat as much fresh and cooked turmeric as we do ginger (loads), but that hasn’t stopped me from supplementing with one of these highly bio-available curcumin supplements which I purchase from an online retailer called i-herb.
MY GINGER UPDATE:
It is approx 18 months since my secondary cancer diagnosis and I’m now taking a teaspoon of organic ginger powder with each meal instead of the Bio Hawk product.
I digest everything so well.
What I am doing 18mths in. I simply buy organic ginger powder by the kilo, and stir a teaspoon of the powder in a small glass of water to dissolve it…and then add a little of this ginger water to my plain soda water with a little squeeze of our own fresh picked or frozen lime juice or lemon juice in it. It makes the plain soda lime/lemon drink fizz up – creating a big head on top and tasted a little like kombucha once it’s settled down. I make sure to leave plenty of room room at the top of the large glass and I add the ginger water slowly a little at a time to be sure not to over fizz. I also add the powder to make a warm/hot tea when the fresh stuff isn’t at hand. This is a link to the Australian online store where I purchase my organic ginger powder & organic turmeric powder. This is new approach is MUCH more affordable for me (long term) then the Biohawk Product I mention below and was happy to pay for in the early days. For 12 months after my secondary breast cancer diagnosis I took these highly concentrated ginger enzymes with every meal. They are from an Australian bio-chemist, Cliff Hawkins, who heads up an organisation called Bio Hawk Foundation. I had 5 weeks of intravenous vitamin C. I had 30g and 60g infusions at my GP’s clinic in Coffs Harbour) . I had the IV Vitamin C therapy very shortly after targeted radiation therapy to a tumor on my vertebrae. I also began taking high dose liposomal vitamin C around the same time. I still take liposomal vitamin C in high doses each day. (10g minimum). I believe in the healing power of high dose liposomal vitamin C so much I even created my own website to support others learning about just how wonderful it is:
I’ve met with my oncologist about 10 times and each time I do, it gets easier to walk my own path, with her there at my side. In the beginning I was very afraid that the cancer on my spine would lead to a life of much loss and pain and underwent 10 days of targeted radiation therapy. I even took their bone cement medicine for one month. That was before I woke up and realised it was for people she had convinced that there was no hope of healing their bones.
My courage developed over time and so has my healing power and energy. My hope is that one day the ideas of conventional oncology will align more with my own ideas about healing. When I read these two news stories recently I began to think that they are looking in the right direction.
What conventional treatments I have agreed to continue for now?
I am 47 and I was still menstruating at the time of my secondary breast cancer diagnosis. My estrogen receptor signalling status was checked and found to be very high on the cancer cells they had biopsied. This told us that my secondary breast cancer was very easily able to access my estrogen hormone in order to grow. The majority of estrogen is produced by the ovaries and Zolodex, is used to prevent estrogen production by the ovaries.
I found the Zolodex and overnight menopause challenging at first. After a few months things improved for me and I think my meditation. Qi gong, ketogenic diet, curcumin supplements, vitamin C all helped with this part of the journey.
My oncologist originally suggested I do chemotherapy and I told her I did not want to. Nine months ago she wrote me a script for another hormone treatment Letrozole and I have not taken it. I told her that ‘as long as the cancer appears stable , (which it still was when we last checked), or even better ..’in remission’ or ‘no longer seen on the scans’ (which I foresee) then I’m not going to take any more conventional drugs or treatments’ they offer me.
Integrative Oncology is the term to describe the therapies, diets and supplements that will support you in avoiding the sickening effects of conventional cancer treatments such as hormone therapy, chemotherapy and radiation.

And I really dug deep with my meditation and self awareness practices that related to pain and fear of pain.
Radiation treatment did cause me to experience pain and I was very conscious at the time of the treatment that the pain felt like another wake up call. Waking me up to do my integrative and alternative therapies, mediation movements and mind-body practices every day.
The wonderful integrative oncology book I mentioned above was not released at the time so I was doing my own research online.
Dr. Joe Dispenza has a website and many books, audio books and meditations. I have enjoyed engaging with his knowledge and practicing with his resources and integrating his offerings into my own healing practices. “I listened to the Dr. Joe Dispenza audio book and meditations from ‘You are the Placebo’ whilst I was getting my high dose vitamin C infusion”.

Hi I’m Abbey and I have been actively healing secondary breast cancer to the bones since June 2017. After barely a year since the diagnosis, I am looking and feeling better than I have in my entire life.
In August 2018, I got an ultrasound that proved that the cancerous lesions on my chest wall and breast tissue have now gone away; yes, the ultrasound confirmed that there is no sign of them at all. I knew this to be the truth myself as I could feel them dissolving slowly just three months into my healing journey.
